Our parks and waterfronts are treasures that defines Penticton as “a place to stay forever.”
So why is city council so hell bent on degrading these treasures by planting meters, a form of taxation, at every spot that gives us citizens and visitors a place of joy and respite?
It is a sad thing when people are burdened with these unnecessary taxes to enjoy the beaches and parks. And, metering Skaha park users while privatizing a huge parcel of the park? How shameful. The legacy of Penticton may surely change to, “a place to PAY forever.”
It is not a legacy by which I would be proud.
