We have a homeless population that is not going away.
We need to have 24-hour public washrooms so that the homeless don’t have to defecate in public. Every Sunday I am in the downtown area and have to deal with urine, human poop and cigarette butts. I can sweep up the cigarette butts but the health hazard of urine and feces is another problem all together.
Last summer I saw a port-a-potty in the downtown area but with winter it disappeared. Are Saturday shoppers the only people that matter? Who do we call to take care of this problem – the mayor? Does he work Sundays? Why do we have money for dog parks but not for public washrooms?
