LETTER: Support Penticton city council

The Save Skaha Park Society really represent a relatively small percentage of the total taxpayers of Penticton.

In his most recent letter to the Western News, Jake Kimberley repeatedly refers to himself and others who are opposed to the Skaha Park Development as the employers of the mayor and city council.

While stated this way to make a point, he fails to recognize that the Save Skaha Park Society really represent a relatively small percentage of the total taxpayers of Penticton. To say that “we are the employer” is a bit disingenuous.

While the likes of the self-appointed watchdogs of city council may hold themselves in such high-esteem, I certainly do not and am tired of the constant criticizing and attempts to undermine the mayor and council.

I think it is time to focus on the positives and support our mayor who was elected to do what appears to be a rather thankless job.

I would think that given his previous “job” as one of our many past mayors , Mr. Kimberley would be well aware of this!
