The (city’s) economic investment zones should never have been instituted at the time.
The time to put in an economic investment zone is when building is in the doldrums to encourage development; not as happened at the beginning of a building boom in the Okanagan Valley.
This giveaway was detrimental to all residential taxpayers. It was compounded by the fact that this giveaway did not include any terms and conditions that would have been beneficial to the residents of this city; such as affordable housing options, etc.
