Unions not worth the cost

How can the unions justify that rates will increase if the community centre is privatized? It makes no sense, as unions will want there 75 per cent slice of the pie.

The city will have to pay more in wages, health, pensions, stat holidays, the list goes on. Plus the truth is unionized personnel work less, knowing that the unions back the lazy, whilst privatization will bring the whole package into one single sum.

I run my business and do not have the luxury of a guaranteed holiday, medical and dental. I work for less than minimum wage, but pay out the nose. So this city should run the pool with maximum effort to keep cost down.

Has anyone done a study to see how Kelowna runs their pool?
