Despite finishing up round robin play with a 3-1 record, the Penticton’s Game Time Sports junior Vees were eliminated from the playoff round based on tournament tie-break regulations.

“We had an outstanding team performance this weekend,” said Vees coach Imre Togyi. “Our players were competitive from the outset and this continued throughout all our games. It was difficult for us to be eliminated based on the tie-breaking criteria, but at the end of the day I know our players had a ton of fun and I was satisfied with how they all played.”

The team’s round robin record was capped off by an exciting 4-3 win over the eventual tournament winner from Kamloops.

“Kamloops was one of our best played games of the season,” said Togyi. “Not only did the kids put their practice and development to the test, they raised their level of effort a couple of notches. It was very rewarding for them. Definitely exciting for the players and our fans for sure. I say that as a coach, fan and dad.”
