BMX club hosts Race for Life

Penticton BMX is hosting Race for Life on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Penticton BMX is hosting Race for Life on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.

The race is in memory of an 11-year-old BMX racer from the U.S. who passed away from leukemia in 1981. The Race for Life has been going strong since this time and is open to all members of the community. Anyone (adults and children) can race in this event (you don’t have to be a member of Penticton BMX).

The Penticton BMX Club would like to invite members of the community to participate. We encourage media personnel and business owners to come down to the track and participate in this race. A bicycle (mountain bike or BMX bike), helmet, and long-sleeved pants and shirt are required. Race fees of $15 and other donations in support will go to Vancouver’s BC Children’s Hospital Leukemia Research.

If you are unable to race, donations in any amount are welcome (cheques payable to Penticton BMX). Donations can also be made online, where you can also find out more information on this event. http://www.pentictonbmx.com/#!race-for-life
