Cyberbullying, player development among topics for BC Hockey AGM

Player development, cyberbullying and coach certification on agenda for B.C. Hockey annual general meeting in Penticton

Player development, cyberbullying and coach certification is the focus of B.C. Hockey's annual general meeting at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre June 20–22.

Representatives from minor hockey associations and junior and senior teams from across the province, along with the board of directors and life members, are attending the event.

BC Hockey’s AGM will discuss topics from guest speakers which include long term player development, cyberbullying, governance review, coach certification process and an update on the BC Hockey mobile app and website development.  A number of seminars will be held on Saturday including coaching, female development, mentorship, officiating and safety risk management.

The awards banquet is Saturday evening to recognize deserving recipients in various categories for their contributions and dedication to hockey in B.C.

The Canucks Centre for BC Hockey and the Vancouver Canucks will be presenting their annual Silver Skate Awards at the luncheon on Saturday.  These awards are presented to the 2013-2014 BC Hockey champions and is given as recognition for the perseverance, dedication and teamwork put forth by each of the championship teams during the hockey season.

Canucks alumni Kirk McLean will be in attendance to present the awards alongside Canucks Centre for BC Hockey Manager and BC hockey president.
