KISU swim club wins Kelowna meet

KISU wins in Kelowna with nearly 5,000 points, 58 compete in meet

KISU made a splash at Kelowna's KAJ Fall Classic swim meet Nov. 21-22 at the H2O Center by winning with 4,984 points. In second was the Vernon Kokanee club with 3,463.5.

KISU had 58 swimmers compete. Among the highlights were Ashley McMillan and Marlee Caruso making their first Age Group National times in the 1500 Free. Tyler Wall and Acacia Benn also made AGN times, but because they have aged up, they will need to make the time standards for the next age group up. Talen Dekleva also completed the 200 individual medley at the jamboree in less than four minutes.

A few notable performances included top point earners:

David Archibald (125), Acacia Benn (138), Brooklyn Follestad (135), Justin Fotherby (171)

Elijah Kliever (126), Samuel Kliever (128), Samuel Matthew (129), Ashley McMillan (164)

Caitlyn Michael (124), Payton Nackoney (132), Andreas Nordlund (134), Wynn Nordlund (127)

Sean Peters (152), Jordan Souch-Tremblay (145) and Mackenzie Wallich (146).

The following swimmers earned best times:

Marlee Caruso, Thomas Caruso, Elijah Kliever, Samuel Kliever, Sean Peters, Lindsay Spear

and Liam Wallich.

The club said this experience sets the team up in a strong position heading into the final stretch of this training cycle that culminates with a large championship-style meet in Kamloops Dec. 11-13 and in preparation for KISU to host the SWIMBC AA Provincial Championships in February.
