Keiran Mielke sniped a pair of goals in a 2-1 BPO Elks win against No. 4 Abbotsford clinch the bantam recreation tournament at Memorial Arena over the weekend.

The BPO Elks played their best hockey with every player contributing. The BPO Elks  opened the tournament with a 6-2 win against West Kelowna. Erick Kwakernaak scored a natural hat-trick, while Logan Anderson-Fraser, Ethan Finlayson and Mielke also scored. On Saturday morning, they defeated Vancouver 5-4 as Anderson-Fraser and AJ Reiter pocketed two goals and Finlayson adding the other. In a 5-5 tie with Chilliwack, Kwakernaak scored twice, Reiter, Finlayson and Jayce Moore score. Against Langley in the semifinal, a 4-3 win, Kwakernaak was at it again with a pair of goals, Spencer Toneatto and Reiter also scored.

The Penticton Lions Club had a great tournament winning three of four, however, it wasn’t good enough to get them into the finals.
