Penticton, Summerland golfers hit top 10 in MJT golf event

Declan Riddle, Jordan Simpson place seventh in respective groups of Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour

The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour was at The Dunes in Kamloops June 30 to July 1. Summerland’s Declan Riddle took seventh in the Juvenile boys division after scoring 161 over two rounds. Ely Overennay of Castlegar topped the group with two rounds of 71 for a total score of 142. The junior boys division was won by Kamloops’ Terry Cousineau, who scored 140 on the par 72 course. Penticton’s Jordan Simpson was tied for seventh with Davide Kaiser of Sun Peaks with a score of 153. The tour’s next stop in B.C. is at Vancouver’s Musqueam Golf Course on July 11.

Boston Pizza is Canada’s number-one played junior golf tour as well as the only national junior tour run exclusively by PGA of Canada Professionals and the ‘Road to College Golf’ in Canada.
