Penticton Vees forward Josh Nadeau is the BCHL’s third star of the week, the league has announced.

Nadeau led the league in scoring last week, posting six points in two games.

The 19-year-old sits second in BCHL scoring with 80 points, trailing only his brother, Bradly Nadeau.

Surrey Eagles goaltender Eli Pulver and Alberni Bulldogs’ netminder Hobie Hedquist was named the first and second stars of the week, respectively.

Also recognized by the league this week was Vees rookie forward Aydar Suniev, who received an honourable mention for his performance against the West Kelowna Warriors and Merritt Centennials.

The rookie-of-the-year frontrunner found the back of the net three times and added a pair of assists.

Suniev is ranked No. 35 on NHL Central Scouting Midterm Draft Rankings, ahead of this June’s draft in Nashville, Tenn.

Penticton (39-3-0-1) wraps up its two-game homestand Friday night, Feb. 24, when they host the Wenatchee Wild.

The South Okanagan’s lone BCHL squad will make a trip to Prince George on Saturday to battle the Spruce Kings.
