The Summerland Steam will host the Columbia Valley Rockies in the Steam’s first regular season game of this season.

The game, at the Summerland Arena, begins at 7:30 p.m.

So far this season, Summerland has played three exhibition games.

On Aug. 28, the Steam faced the North Okanagan Knights in Armstrong, playing to a 3-2 loss. On Aug. 31, the Steam hosted the Kelowna Chiefs, losing 6-3. On Sept. 1, the team travelled to Osoyoos, losing to the Coyotes in a 5-1 decision.

In past years, Summerland has had a strong Junior B hockey team. Each year since the 2012-2013 season, the Steam has advanced to the playoffs and in the 2014-2015 season, won the division finals and advanced to the conference finals.

Last year, the team finished third in the division with 27 wins, 16 losses, one tie and three overtime losses.
