Vees among final four for junior A national championship

RBC Cup semifinals are set with Vees facing T-Birds and Broncos taking on the Slammers

The 2012 RBC Cup semi-final matches for Saturday are set.

At 1 p.m. PST, the host Humboldt Broncos (4-0) will take on the Woodstock Slammers (1-3), then the Penticton Vees (2-2) will get their shot at revenge against the Soo Thunderbirds at 5 p.m. The Vees opened the RBC Cup tournament with a 2-1 loss against the Thunderbirds, who received stellar goaltending from John Kleinhans. The goalie stole the show with a 44-save performance. The Broncos also opened the tournament against the Slammers and handed them a 4-1 loss. All the semifinal action can be viewed on FASTHockey at http://hockeycanada.fasthockey.com/login.php. The RBC Cup final will be televised by TSN on Sunday at 4:30 PST. Should the Vees advance, fans are welcomed to go to the South Okanagan Events Centre to watch.
