Vees blanked by Centennials in Merritt

Jonah Imoo and Centennials top the Penticton Vees at home

The Penticton Vees fired 37 shots at Merritt Centennials goalie Jonah Imoo, including 16 in the second period, but couldn't beat him in a 5-0 loss on the road.

The Vees trailed 3-0 after one period in the Nicola Valley Arena Saturday.

Vees goalie Hunter Miska was pulled after allowing four goals on 21 shots in 41 minutes of action. Brendan Barry turned aside seven of eight shots in 19.

The Vees power play was also unable to give them momentum on four chances.

Scoring for the Centennials were Michael Ederer, who opened the scoring at 14:01 of the first, then Daniel Nachbauer, James Neill, Ederer netted his second of the night and John Schiavo scored the Centennials' fifth goal. Shane Poulsen led the Centennials with three assists.
