Two days ago we had a bowling outing to relax and get away from the rink. My team with Mario (Lucia), (Steven) Fogarty, Mike (Reilly), Grant (Nicholson) and Travis (St. Denis) smoked everyone and in doing so got free blizzards.
It wasn't regular bowling, instead it was five-pin. It was a great time. After that we went home to take it easy and get some good rest. Last night we beat the Woodstock Slammers 2-1 in a hard fought game. We came out flying in the first doing everything but score. The second we went down 1-0, but my other half (Ryan) scored on a slapshot knuckle puck to tie it up.
Going into the third we were confident and excited. Some penalties kind of hurt us, but Joey Benik had the game-winning goal early in the third on the power play on a tip from Mikey.
Tonight we go into the game with the do or die attitude. A semifinal birth is on the line and we are excited. We realize not many people want us to win, maybe besides our own fans, but that does not matter because we are ready to play. We are ready to play with speed and confidence, however not get too cute. Game 4 tonight and it is the biggest game of the year. Your true character shines when your backs are up against the wall. We will see what we are made of tonight. More updates to come.
