Vees hit 50 wins with victory over Salmon Arm

Brodzinski nets winner, while Driscoll makes 34 saves for Penticton in win over Salmon Arm

The Penticton Vees wanted win No. 50 and got it in their final BCHL regular season game.

The Vees downed the Salmon Arm Silverbacks at the Shaw Centre 5-1 Saturday.

After a scoreless opening period, the Vees put three goals past Angus Redmond, the first was at 1:29 as Luke Voltin got his 11th of the season. Ten minutes later, Easton Brodzinski scored the winner to make it 2-0, with Chris Gerrie setting him up. More than a minute later, Scott Conway buried his 56th of the season on the power play, with assists going to Tyson Jost and Dante Fabbro.

In the final period, Fabbro set up Nicholas Jones for his 21st of the season at 4:15, while Jost connected for his 42nd goal. Elijah Barriga broke Zachary Driscoll's shutout bid at 16:57. Driscoll finished with 34 saves. Redmond finished with 35 saves on the night.

The Vees end their season with a 50-7-0-1 record.
