Penticton Vees remain unbeaten after win against Trail

The Penticton Vees are still perfect in the 2014-15 BCHL season.

The Vees improved to 3-0 following a 3-1 at Trail's Cominco Arena Friday night against the Smoke Eaters.

Following a scoreless first period in which the Vees outshot Trail 10-8, the home team hit the scoreboard first 13 seconds into the second period on a goal by Scott Davidson. The Vees struck back just over three minutes later as Joshua Laframboise set up Steen Cooper. Laframboise then scored his second goal of the season with nine seconds remaining in the period. His goal would become the game winner.

In the final frame, Demico Hannoun added an insurance marker for the Vees, who were outshot 32-21. Vees goalie Hunter Miska made 31 saves for the win, while Adam Todd turned aside 18 in the loss.

The penalty kill for both teams were perfect, the Vees two-for-two, while the Smoke Eaters killed off all four.

The Vees travel to Merritt Saturday to take on the Centennials.
