George Thorogood and the Destroyers will be performing at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton on Sunday.

Concerts

May 18 — Mad Melody Records presents the Yin & Yang DJ/Hip-Hop event at The Cannery Stage Theatre. Indie artists from around the Okanagan including MC Bodhi, P-City, Adanacmmorf, Toxik Emissionz, Jay-E, Pixy, Reveal and Mode. Tickets are $10 at the door. Doors open at 7: 30 p.m. and show starts at 8 p.m.

May 18 — The Dharma Dolls at the Dream Café. This Vernon trio promises to put on a fabulous show featuring jazz, opera and folk. Tickets are $20. For reservations call 250-490-9012.

May 18 — Uncorked will be performing in the Cobblestone Wine Bar and Restaurant at the Naramata Heritage Inn and Spa.

May 19 — Elvis Elite starring Steve Elliott and The Blue Suede Boys seven-piece band at the Cleland Theatre.

May 19 — Science and State opening at The Cannery Stage with opening acts Michael Musclow, Cinged and The Nobodies. Doors open at 7 p.m. with opening acts starting at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $7.

May 19 — Scott Cook is a Prairie balladeer with folk, roots, blues, soul and reggae influences with fingerpicked acoustic guitar, banjo, ukulele and foot percussion. He is performing at the Dream Café. Tickets are $15.

May 20 — George Thorogood and The Destroyers at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

May 27 — Animal Nation peforming at Voodoo's.

Until May 17 — Naramata Arts Studio presents a Spring Art Exhibition at the historic Leir House in Penticton. Original works from a wide variety of painting media.

Until May 18 — Art In Nature — Colour, Line and Form, photography show at Bellevue Café. Come down and vote for your favourite photo.

Until June 23 — Through Gaijin Eyes, paintings/illustrations/photographs of experiences in Japan by Endrene Shepherd in the Adams Room of the Summerland Art Gallery.

May 17 — Penticton Chamber Theatre Green Show: Masks of King Lear at the Shatford Centre at 7 p.m.

May 18 — Summerland Pleasure Painters art show and sale at 10122 Main St. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. artwork shown will be featuring all mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolours, pencil drawings and pastels.

May 19-20 — Self-guided art trip studio tour. Make your own connection with art and get an up-close look at how artists do their work at Art On the Naramata Bench, Summerland and Trout Creek and Lake-To-Lake artist studios from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

May 20 — Vancouver crime author David Russell signing copies of Last Dance at Coles from noon to 3 p.m.

May 24-26 — Rotary Okanagan International Children's Festival featuring Bob's & Lolo, Erth's Dinosaur Petting Zoo, Breakdance for Solo Cello, The Matt Velvet and Charlie Show, Élage Diouf and more performers and activities.

May 26 — Acting Classes puts on their end of year performance with all proceeds going to the South Okanagan Children's Charity Sunshine Fund. The students and nistructior have written their own 1940s San Grancisco style private eye mystery. Performance at Cheers Church May 26 at 7 p.m.
