With the sun shining and temperatures rising, Penticton is once again gearing up to welcome thousands of locals and tourists alike for a busy season of events.

The city has confirmed the return of several festivals in 2024, and said it wants to recognize the volunteers that help make them happen.

That’s why on April 20, the city and South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Centre Society will hold a special appreciation event in Gyro Park.

“We started 2024 on a high, presenting Penticton’s first Frost Fest Winter Carnival, and now with the CSSHL Championships and next week’s return of Ignite the Arts Festival, followed by many other high-profile events, we’re ready for a big year ahead,” said Penticton Mayor Julius Bloomfield.

“Behind each of these events is a team of volunteers and organizers who work hard to bring them to life, and we’d like to thank everyone for their passion and dedication to adding vibrancy to our community.”
