Get ready for a jam-packed wintertime weekend in Penticton.
Here’s what’s happening from Jan. 19 to 20:
BCHL Top Prospects Game (Jan. 19)
NHL and NCAA scouts will be at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Friday when BCHL’s brightest stars play in the league’s annual showcase game.
Six members of the Penticton Vees have been selected to play in the Top Prospects Game, set for 6 p.m.
The game kicks off BCHL All-Star Weekend and tickets can be purchased here.

Shrek the Musical at the Lakeside Resort (Jan 19 to 20)
Soundstage Productions wraps up its Shrek the Musical performances at the Lakeside Resort on Friday and Saturday.
Expect to see Shrek, Fiona and Donkey at 7 p.m. on Friday, with Saturday featuring a 1 p.m. matinee start.

Penticton Silver Bullets back in town (Jan. 19)
It’s the hometown independent senior men’s AA franchise against the Lumby Lumberjacks on Friday night at Memorial Arena.
Admission is free and puck drop is at 7 p.m.

Hockey galore at Penticton’s outdoor rink (Jan. 20)
After Penticton police and firefighters face off in a hockey game on the city’s outdoor rink next to city hall at 9 a.m., the BCHL presents all of its all-star festivities at the venue.
There is no admission to catch the BCHL Alumni Game, skills competition and three-on-three all-star tournament for the rest of the day. Full schedule can be found here.

Frost Fest (Jan. 20)
Frost Fest, a brand-new wintertime festival in Penticton, comes to Gyro Park on Saturday.
Kids’ activities, sledding hill, DJ and food trucks will be featured from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Downtown Throwdown Rail Jam (Jan. 20)
Professional and expert-level skiers and snowboarders are invited to participate in Penticton’s first-ever rail jam event at Gyro Park.
The event will feature multiple categories and up to $6,000 in cash prizes.
Action starts at 5 p.m.

Lethal Comedy Tour hits Penticton pub (Jan. 20)
A busy day in Penticton wraps up on Saturday night with a pair of award-winning comics at the Barley Mill Brew Pub.
Rising Canadian stars Abbas Wahab and Jordan Policicchio bring the laughs to the pub from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
