Here’s what’s happening this weekend in Penticton

Vees return from all-star break, Robbie Burns Night and more coming up

The final weekend of January has arrived. Here’s what happening from Jan. 26 to 27:

Vees back in action, host 2 Coastal Conference foes (Jan. 26 and 27)

The Penticton Vees return to the ice on Friday, following the BCHL’s all-star break.

After the Chilliwack Chiefs battle the Vees on Friday at the South Okanagan Events Centre, Penticton will host the Surrey Eagles on Saturday.

Puck drop on Friday is at 7 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Snowed in Comedy (Jan. 27)

Cleland Theatre in Penticton hosts Snowed in Comedy on Saturday night.

Dan Quinn, Pete Zedlacher, Erica Sigurdson, and Paul Myrehaug bring the laughs to the venue at 7:30 p.m.

Snowed in Comedy is currently embarking on a Canada-wide tour.

Robbie Burns Night (Jan. 27)

The Penticton Scottish Festival Society hosts “A Celebration of Robert Burns” on Saturday night at the Penticton Lakeside Resort.

The famous poet will be honoured with a full night of festivities, including the reading of his 1786 poem Address to a Haggis, and a special dinner.

Proceeds from the event will support this year’s Penticton Scottish Festival, for July 5 and 6.

Doors for this weekend’s event open at 4:30 p.m. and dinner is at 5:30 p.m.

Kutapira at the Dream Cafe (Jan. 27)

Kutapira, a marimba and percussion ensemble, comes to Penticton’s Dream Cafe on Saturday night.

Made up of musicians aged 25 to 30, the group of five started playing together when they were kids over 15 years ago.

Show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets can be purchased here.
