Princess Margaret Secondary will bring the show to Cleland Theatre Feb. 29 to March 2

The talented students at Princess Margaret Secondary are excited about their upcoming musical production, Bye Bye Birdie showing Feb. 22 to 24 at the school and Feb. 29 to March 2 at Cleland Theatre.

This toe-tapping production promises to transport audiences back to the start of the rock ‘n’ roll era with memorable tunes like Put On a Happy Face, Kids and Got a lot of Living To Do with hilarious antics, and a whole lot of fun mixed in too.

The students have been working hard painting sets, sewing costumes, practicing lines to bring the award-winning musical to life right here in Penticton.

The storyline follows Conrad Birdie, a rock and roll icon, who has been drafted into the army and his adoring fans are distraught. His manager Albert Peterson and his secretary Rosie have a way to make it pay off.

Meanwhile, Kim persuades Hugo she is still his girl, and Mama Peterson comes in between Rosie and Albert. In the era of The Ed Sullivan Show, audiences will enjoy songs such as Put On A Happy Face, Kids, and Gotta Lot of Living To Do.

The first shows will take place at Maggie Secondary from Feb. 22 to 24 at 7 p.m. each night.

Then the show will move onto the big stage of Cleland Theatre from Feb. 29 to March 2 at 7 p.m. with one matinee March 2 at 2 p.m.

Tickets for the musical at Maggie are $15 and $20 at Cleland Theatre.
