BREAKING: Fire breaks out in Penticton home

Black smoke was reported to be coming from structure at around 2:15 p.m.

The Penticton Fire Department responded to a house fire on Burns Street Saturday afternoon, Nov. 11.

A witness tells a Black Press Media reporter on scene that a small flame could be seen from a bottom window but within minutes, it spread to the upstairs.

The house, located off Eckhardt Avenue, is in an alley and the damage is significant. Black smoke was reported to be coming from the structure at around 2:15 p.m.

Everyone in the house got out and it’s unclear at this time if there are any injuries, crews said. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

RCMP and ambulance also attended to the area.

Fire crews cleared the scene at around 4 p.m.
